700 years old banyan tree : A 700-year-old Banyan tree was preserved in Telangana just when it was about to befall due to the infection caused by termite. Officials in Telangana have literally put the tree on drips filled with diluted pesticides to get rid of the insects.

Apparently, tourists have named this majestic tree as “Pillalamarri” or “Peerla Marri” in Telangana.
THE PROCESS OF PURIFICATION:
The official tried to push Chlorpyrifos chemical into the stem through holes but it failed. Then, they injected the chemical solution like a saline drip.
Subsequently, the officials are precariously watering the roots of the tree with the diluted solution to kill the termites.

“The tree’s health is stable now. We are hoping it will become normal after a few days. We are also planning to open the site to the public after discussion with the higher officials, but this time people have to see it from a distance away from the barricades,” the official told the English daily.
